Who are you?
My name is Hannah Bower and I am 20 years old
Where have you come from?
I have come from a village called Skidby, which is near Hull. I have lived there all my life. So this is my first time living away from home. Back home I attended a church called Christ Church Cottingham, which I was deeply involved with for a few years now.
Tell us a little bit about you…
I have just finished an extended diploma in photography and design in a specialist art and design college and I’m currently taking a gap year to work with Kidz Klub and I’m so happy to see what God has in store for me. After my gap year I am not sure what I will be doing next. I will wait and see what God has in store for me. I have a huge passion for photography and would like to be more involved in this some point in the future and ideally start my own business in wedding and family photography. My hobbies include; baking, reading, photography and making crafty things. I have been involved in the children’s work in our Church and took on the role of setting up and leading a girls group for 11 to 16 year olds, which has taken off really well. All these experiences have been an amazing opportunity to be involved with the church and it has really developed and strengthened my faith.
How did you end up coming to be an intern for Kidz Klub?
How did I end up here? Well I have been going to new wine for a couple of years now and was a leader in the Ground Breaker tent. It was there where I first met Kate, she explained about Kidz Klub and what it involved. I have always had a huge passion for working with children and building a relationship with them. I also think that it is incredibly important that children get to know and experience the love of Jesus so that instantly struck a chord in my heart. However my plan was that I was going to further my career in photography so I looked and applied into various photography courses and jobs. However as I am fast learning our plans aren’t nearly as great as the ones god has for us. The plans for studying photography further fell through and when I was tiding my room one night I came across Kidz Klub information. This hit me hard and I realised that God was looking out for me that whole time. I then spoke to my parents and we prayed together before then contacting Kate to get more information about what it would involve. And right from that moment every step of my journey, until this point has just felt so right. And I have felt God right by my side. And that’s my story so here I am!
What are you most looking forward to about the year?
I am really looking forward to seeing what Gods plan is for this year. I hope and pray that this experience will mould me and strengthen my faith and also my confidence as a person. I am also looking forward to getting to know all of the people who are involved in Kidz Klub and have a huge part in making it what it is. I am most looking forward to meeting all of the children in Kidz Klub and building relationships with them. As this is my first time living away from home I am excited to find my way around a new place and hopefully not get too lost.
What would you like prayer for?
Firstly that I settle in and find my way around the area without getting lost. And also that I will be used in the way God wants me to be and I can get the most out of this amazing experience as I have been so blessed to have the opportunity to be a part of such an amazing charity.
